Sanctuary Forest Radio Hour

KMUD - Redwood Community Radio, Inc.

Please tune in to KMUD - Redwood Community Radio, Inc. on Thursday, November 29th, at 7:00 p.m. for the Sanctuary Forest Radio Hour. Sanctuary Forest’s Executive Director April Newlander will be joined by Lands Program Director Galen Doherty to give us an update on the Van Arken Community Forest Project! At 7:20 we will be joined by Ali Freedlund of the Mattole Restoration Council to discuss the increased threat of wildfire and how we are collaborating with a host of organizations to address overstocked forests, create safe exit routes for emergency evacuation, and reintroduce prescribed burning as a land management tool. You can also stream it live or listen to the archive: www.kmud.org. There may be an opportunity for listeners to call in during the last half of the show. Pictured: a prescribed burn completed by the Humboldt County Prescribed Burn Association with the help of various agencies and volunteer fire departments including the Briceland Volunteer Fire Department, Telegraph Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Honeydew Volunteer Fire Department, Shelter Cove Fire Department, CalFIRE, Prometheus Fire Consulting, UCCE, NCAQMD, and many others.
