Sanctuary Forest Radio Hour

See Event Description

Please tune in to KMUD on Thursday, August 29th at 7pm for the Sanctuary Forest Radio Hour. Sanctuary Forest’s Water Program Director Tasha McKee will be joined by Charrna Gilmore, Executive Director of the Scott River Watershed Council, for a show about how humans can imitate beavers to achieve stream restoration goals! Tasha and Charrna will be coming in to the studio fresh from the river, and they’ll be telling us about beaver dam analog projects in the Scott River watershed as well as a project that Sanctuary Forest is working on right now in the headwaters of the Mattole River. We’ll also cover the current state of the Mattole River and how it compares with previous years; and storage & forbearance progress updates. Be sure to tune in and learn how Sanctuary Forest is monitoring and addressing the low flow problem in our local streams! There may be an opportunity for listeners to call in during the last quarter of the show. ******************** Sanctuary Forest is a land and trust whose mission is to conserve the Mattole River watershed and surrounding areas for wildlife habitat and aesthetic, spiritual and intrinsic values, in cooperation with our diverse community.
