The Cal Poly Humboldt Department of Dance, Music, and Theatre presents “The Cal Poly Humboldt Opera Workshop,” performing a live adaptation of the classic and beloved School House Rock! Join us May 3rd 11am and 2pm at the Arcata Playhouse or May 5th 7:30pm at the Fulkerson Recital Hall. Tickets for the May 3rd performance are $15 General, $10 for Children, or $40 for a family of four. Tickets are available online at playhousearts.org. Tickets for the May 5th performance are $10 General, $5 for children, and Free for Humboldt Students with ID. On the morning of his first day, newly credentialed teacher Tom turns on the TV to help calm his nerves. Different parts of his personality immediately spring to life and lead him on a whimsical and educational journey through grammar, math, science and civics. Part inspirational tale and part concert, Schoolhouse Rock Live! is an upbeat and positive romp that is fun for the whole family. Come sing along to favorites like “Conjunction Junction” and “I’m Just a Bill,” and help introduce these great tunes to a whole new generation!
