Science on Tap: Innovative Strategies in Forestry and Restoration

Mad River Brewery Tasting Room

It’s summertime! This month, we are bringing you two experts in the field of Forestry. Immerse yourself in the captivating research of Forest Physiologist Lucy Kerhoulas who will share about being botanically crafty and tricks of the trade for tall trees. Alongside Lucy, we have a level two Forester with the California State Parks Lathrop Leonard speaking about feel good forestry and restoration challenges. Join us for an evening of knowledge sharing about the forests we call home.

Our adventure kicks off at 6 pm! Arrive early to get a prime spot, savor juicy BBQ from the grill masters at Low and Slow, and enjoy a refreshing beverage from Mad River Brewery. Following the talks, we will be raffling off another set of beautiful earrings donated by Holly Yashi. Tickets start at $2 or 3 for $5. See you there!

The weather is warming and the patio cover is off so make sure to bring whatever you need to be comfortable. We encourage bringing a hat, sunglasses and maybe even some sunscreen as beautiful Blue Lake can be very sunny this time of year. It is also great to carpool, if possible, as parking can be limited at times.

Science on Tap fosters collaboration among local advocates for natural resources. Let’s create a platform for sharing ideas and inspire resilience in environmental restoration for generations to come. Join us in building an inclusive space that welcomes everyone into the environmental community, making knowledge accessible and enjoyable for all in a laid-back and fun setting. See you there!
