Seabird Walk

Trinidad Coastal Land Trust

Join Trinidad Coastal Land Trust and Shannon Murphy, biologist with the Seabird Protection Network to learn about the seabirds that call the California Coastal National Monument their home, on Sunday, June 18 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Meet at the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust office, located 380 Janis Court (Simmons Gallery) in Trinidad for a brief introduction to seabirds.

Learn about common Murres, a penguin-like bird that nests in densely packed colonies, Pigeon Guillemots who “fly” under water and Pelagic Comorants who nest on the sides of the rocks off
the coast. After brief introduction to seabirds at the at the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust office, participants will walk to the Memorial Lighthouse to view some of our local seabirds through spotting scopes.
