Sexland 2016: Into the Deep
HSU Peer Health Education Program
We are proud to present Sexland 2016: Into the Deep (feeling our way together…)! Sexland is a sexual health event that focuses on exposure to new ways of thinking about sex and sexuality while validating sexual experience and diversity through a lens of informed consent. This year is a celebration of the diversity of bodies, focusing on trans experience and positive sexuality. We have a variety of events so all can enjoy!
Starting on Wednesday April 20th we have a rope bondage workshop in Nelson Hall East 106 at 6:30pm!
We’re kicking off Sexland with two wonderful speakers on Thursday and Friday before the Expo —
- Thursday April 21st in the KBR at 6:30pm: Buck Angel on his documentary Sexing the Trans Man
- Friday April 22nd in the Great Hall at 6:30pm: Yosenio Lewis as our Keynote speaker
Saturday is where we make an even bigger splash with our education and celebration of sexuality! Below (and on the flier) is a list of Saturday April 23rd’s events:
10am - 4pm: Various Workshops happening in the South Lounge:
- 10 am - 11 am : FXCKING the NORM Out of Sex-ed: An unfiltered dialogue and writer’s workshop about how most sex-ed has been a bunch of barnacles. Whale be building community, and a personalized collection of materials that’s shore to say surf’s up to our past experiences.
- 11: 15 am - 12:45 pm: Dark Desires with Yoseñio Lewis
- 1 pm - 2 pm: Sex Toys for Every Body
- 2:15 pm - 4:00 pm - Let’s Get Deep: An in-depth conversation exploring the experiences and feelings of being a Student of Color at HSU with a splash of sexuality. This workshop (as a POC only space) was created to offer people of color a safe space to share and discuss their experiences in a supportive and healing environment. 5pm - 7pm: EXPO!!
End the day by coming to our intereactive tabling event in the KBR for FREE food (Rita’s catering and gourmet cupcakes), BALL PIT, music, photo booth with mermaid tails and cute blow up sea creatures, FREE sextoy raffle, games, educational supplies and so much more!
