Sean powers will share a Shadow Puppet show and families will have a chance to create their own shadow puppets (young children will need an adult helper). This event will be at the Kim Yerton Memorial Library in Hoopa on Thursday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m. and at Eureka Library on Friday, August 18 with performances at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. This event is free for children and the adults who love them, and all participants get to pick out a free book. Call (707) 269-1910 for more information.

Sean Powers has been performing with shadow puppets since 1996 and has performed over 1,000 shows. Libraries, schools, museums, community center, private parties, and wherever it’s dark. “Sean is a gifted storyteller, telling his stories by memory using props and instruments to illustrate the stories and encouraging the children to both listen and participate enthusiastically.” -Denise Jesus, Mistwood Montessori. There are also Kids Create videos with Sean about musical instruments and making shadow puppets on YouTube @HumboldtCountyLibrary.
