Sierra Club Hike to Lyon’s Ranch

After a long hiatus due to COVID-19 and lack of trip leaders, the North Group Sierra Club invites the general public to attend a free 4-mile hike. The location will be Lyon’s Ranch in Redwood National Park. Meet leader Dana m. in the small parking area before the gate, which is located 17 miles up Bald Hills Road north of Orick. You will see wonderful vistas across oak and prairie landscapes that include barns, cabins, and a small cemetery. This is a historic site dating back over 150 years. Bring food and water, wear suitable footwear and sun protection, and be able to handle slight elevation gains on an easy trail during the 4-mile round trip. No restroom facility at the site. You will be required to sign a liability waiver. North Group is unable to organize carpools. This hike has a 15-person limit; pre-register by e-mailing the name(s) of people in your party to sierraclubnorthgroup@gmail.com.
