SOFT AS SNOW is the Berlin-based, Norwegian duo of Oda Starheim and Øystein Monsen. With rough sampling, slippery rhythms and noisy textures, their raw electronic productions are accompanied by Oda’s shapeshifting voice, creating a warped-yet-warm physicality. Their latest album was released on Beacon Sound and features London MC Brother May (CURL). Their music has been variously compared to Fever Ray, Throbbing Gristle, and Cabaret Voltaire.

DPSD is the audiovisual project of director Danny Perez, using his filmmaking background (ANTIBIRTH starring Natasha Lyonne and Chloë Sevigny, Animal Collective’s ODDSAC) to create wild video projections that interact with beat-driven electronic music infused with broken guitar melodies. Touring for years with BLACK DICE and PANDA BEAR, creating their concert visuals, has informed Perez’s own music. Live performances feature Perez’s signature visuals set to an ominous but playful take on power electronics and psych-rock.
