The Garberville-Redway Chamber of Commerce plans a Fourth of July fireworks display at Benbow Lake State Park. Volunteers and donations are still needed; call the chamber at 923-2613 or Linda at 923-2835. Volunteers can help with parking, security, setting up signs and cones in the morning and breakdown the next day. Mail donations to P.O. Box 445, Garberville, 95542, or drop them off at the chamber office, located in the Redwood Drive Center under the clock in Garberville.

For the safety of all and to keep within the State Parks Guidelines, no pets, glass containers, fireworks, alcohol or drugs will be allowed in the park. State Park Rangers, California Division of Forestry, local fire departments, Highway Patrol and other security will be on hand to ensure a safe and secure family event.

Fireworks start at 10 p.m. There is an $8 State Parks fee for those choosing to watch the fireworks from Benbow Lake State Park. Shuttles begin at 5:45 p.m. from Redway and 6 p.m. from Garberville; there is a $2 charge. For more information, call the Garberville-Redway Chamber of Commerce at 923-2613.
