South Fork Trinity Trail Work Day
The Bigfoot Trail Alliance and Six Rivers National Forest invite volunteers to a trail stewardship day at Hell’s Half Acre along the South Fork Trinity River on Sunday, October 18, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Volunteers will help brush vegetation, improve trail tread, and clear downed trees along this rugged and beautiful section of trail above the South Fork Trinity River. No previous trail-work experience is necessary; tools, instruction, lunch, and transportation from Arcata will be provided.
Participants should be prepared for hiking and working on uneven terrain and should wear long pants, long sleeves, gloves, and sturdy footwear because poison oak is abundant.
The group will meet at Wildberries Marketplace in Arcata at 8 a.m. and return around 5 p.m. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
