Stage Door (1937)
A rich society beauty decides to see if she can break into the Broadway theatre scene without her family connections. She goes to live in a theatrical boarding house and finds her life caught up with those of the other theatrical hopefuls. Her sassy roommate just might get “the big break” when she meets a lecherous producer…but at what cost?
Starring Katharine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers, and Adolphe Menjou. Directed by Gregory La Cava. Based on the play by Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman.
