Stick Men with Tony Levin

Arcata Playhouse

Iconic rock bassist Tony Levin returns to the Arcata Playhouse with his hard driving trio Stick Men on Friday, February 10th. Levin is Peter Gabriel’s long time bassist and has played with the likes of Paul Simon, David Bowie, John Lennon, Yes, Pink Floyd, Sting and Seal just to drop a few names from his illustrious four decade career. We got to see his jazz side with the Levin Brothers the last time Tony came to Humboldt in January 2019 now we are thrilled to experience the edgier rock material of Stick Men. Joined by his longtime King Crimson band mate Pat Mastelotto on drums and touch guitarist Markus Reuter. Expect some hard driving prog and alt rock from this incredible power trio. Levin plays the Chapman Stick, from which the band takes it’s name. Having bass and guitar strings, the Chapman Stick functions at times like two instruments. Markus Reuter plays his self-designed touch style guitar – again covering much more ground than a guitar or a bass. And Mastelotto’s drumming encompasses not just the acoustic kit, but a unique electronic setup too, allowing him to add loops, samples, percussion, and more. Members of STICK MEN have recorded on albums that sold over 100 million records worldwide.
