Supersonic Strings Safe Space—a guitar extravaganza

The Cal Poly Humboldt Guitar Ensemble, directed by Dr. Jennifer Trowbridge, and the Cal Poly Humboldt Department of Dance, Music, and Theatre present the “Supersonic Strings Safe Space,” a guitar extravaganza where the entire audience is encouraged to dress in their most colorful attire and be ready to groove to a kaleidoscopic cornucopia of all things guitar. This amazing group of students have prepared a show that will delight your ears and fill your heart. Join us Sunday December 8th at 5:00pm at the Fulkerson Recital Hall at Cal Poly Humboldt. Tockets ar $15 General, $5 Children, and FREE for Cal Poly Humboldt Students w/ID. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at tickets.humboldt.edu/dance-music-theatre

These passionate guitarists will present tunes from the worlds of rock, jazz, classical, folk, and mariachi and will be performing works by Alonso Montes, John Fahey, Justin Holland, Elizabeth Cotten, Wilbert Harrison, and others.

Music major Francisco Gonzalez sums up the community the concert hopes to foster “we are all strings of a guitar.” Francisco and his ensemble mates want to share with you their hope, their love of books, their friendship, and the fire in their souls. Dr. Trowbridge urges all to join in the power of music, “[it can] change the atmosphere, the environment, and how you move in the world.” Come check out this supersonic space where you are free to be all that you are!
