Surfrider’s Post-Fourth of July Beach Cleanup: Power Poles

Power Poles, Samoa Beach

The Surfrider Foundation Humboldt Chapter invites the community to help clean up Samoa Beach the morning after the Fourth of July, historically the dirtiest beach day of the year. Fireworks debris, single-use plastics, and food waste left behind from holiday celebrations get buried in the sand or wash into the ocean.

Now in its third decade nationally, the July 5th cleanup is Surfrider’s largest volunteer event of the year. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Gloves, buckets, and bags will be provided — participants only need to bring themselves. Volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes.

No registration required. Just show up at Power Poles.
