Take Back The Night

5-6pm in the KBR Rally With Music for Take Back The Night: A time for students and community members to enjoy local acoustic artists emphasizing themes of Take Back The Night. This is also a time in which people are able to become acquainted with various campus and community support resources related to community building and sexualized violence prevention & response. 6-9pm in the KBR Survivor Speak-Out: This is a time given to survivors of sexualized trauma and/or violence to share their own story, experience, feelings. The intention is for a healing and safe space that breaks the silence around these forms of violence that has so long been normalized. 9-9:45pm Women Identified March Through HSU to Arcata Plaza: People who identify as women will march through HSU campus and the city of Arcata to protest the disproportionate sexualized violence women-identified people experience and chant empowering messages to reclaim the dark and sacred hours of the night. 9:45-10:15 Community of All Genders Ceremony and Vigil at Arcata Plaza: Upon arrival to the plaza community members and supporters welcome the marchers and hold a brief ceremony in honoring this movement to end violence. A vigil will then be held in memory of those who have died as a result of sexualized violence. 10:15-11pm Community of All genders March From Arcata Plaza to HSU!: This is a time for all community members and supporters to join marchers from Arcata plaza to HSU campus in solidarity against sexualized trauma and violence while fueling seeds of healing for survivors.
