Thanksgiving? NO. Vigil for the Immigrant families in detention Centers
On Thursday, November 28th, 2019, from 10:00am-12:00pm on the front sidewalk of the County Courthouse Centro del Pueblo, North Coast People Alliance, Affordable Homless Housing Alternatives will host a Thanksgiving vigil to protest against the separation of immigrant families in detention centers. Food Not Bombs Will be providing food for this event. Stand in solidarity with Immigrant families. Renee Saucedo, a member of Centro del Pueblo says “We can’t, in good conscience, celebrate thanksgiving while our families are separated, we’re mourning them in an empty thanksgiving table”. The protest will be the platform to announce the details of the caravan traveling from Humboldt county to Yuba City Jail, the Northern Detention Center in California, next December 14th, 2019.
