Learn the art of hosting with the emcee of the San Antonio Burlesque Festival and Humboldt Burlesque Festival 2018, Foxxy Blue Orchid! The role of facilitator is sacred. You are a creator of safe space, you must be the guru of “yes, and…” and you have the awesome responsibility of keeping your finger on the pulse of the show. In this introductory - intermediate level workshop, you will learn some tips on finding your voice, be lead through a conversation on remaining socially conscious with evolving language (gender pronouns, keeping your audience and performers safe from racial/misogynistic slurs), building comedic energy through the art of improv, timing, intros/outros, conserving physical and creative energy and we will explore the magic that lives in the wild unknown of working with a live audience and live performance.
