The Birds and Bees Educational Series

Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge

Join us on Saturday, January 28th at the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge (just south of College of the Redwoods) from 10:00am to 12:00 pm for the first of our educational series titled “Know your Wildlife Refuge (birds!) and know your local Botanical Garden (bees!)”.

Through a grant made possible by the McLean Foundation, the Humboldt Botanical Garden is partnering with the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge for a monthly educational program titled “The Birds and Bees Educational Series” focusing on plants, animals and insects of the North Coast Region. To kick this series off, we thought it appropriate to provide the community with presentations on both the Garden and the Wildlife Refuge – where they have come from (history) and where they plan to go in the future (strategic planning). Following the PowerPoint presentations, Eric Nelson, Refuge Manager, will host a hike around the refuge.
