The Lady Eve (1941)
A seductive con artist targets the wealthy-but-naive heir to a beer brewing fortune, but falls for him instead. When he learns the truth about her, she impersonates a cultured English lady and re-enters his life, furious at being scorned and determined to torment him. Another wonderfully witty comedy from Preston Sturges.
Starring Barbara Stanwyck, Henry Fonda, Charles Coburn, and William Demarest. Directed by Preston Sturges. Based on the story “Two Bad Hats” by Monckton Hoffe.
A brief introduction will precede the movie, and a discussion will follow. Seating is limited, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
