The Love Letters

Redbud Theater

CHAMPAGNE, CHOCOLATE AND LOVE LETTERS; REDBUD THEATER BRINGS VALENTINE ROMANCE TO WILLOW CREEK This Valentines Day weekend, Redbud Theater is bringing a touch of romance to Willow Creek with a very special Champagne and Chocolate presentation of “Love Letters” by A.R. Gurney. This beautiful play, featuring two of Redbud’s finest actors, will be performed two times only, on Saturday, February 14 (Valentine’s Evening) at 8:00 p.m. and a Sunday, February 15 matinee at 2:30 p.m. “Love Letters” is one of A.R. Gurney’s best known and most frequently performed plays. The concept is elegantly simple: two characters, Melissa and Andrew, sit side by side on a simple set and read notes, letters and cards that they have sent to each other throughout their lives. The messages extend from childhood to their 50’s and express all their hopes and dreams. The effect is complex and touching… anything but simple. The show features two wonderful actors who have graced the Redbud stage many times over the years. Steve Niese and Linda Lymon bring the depth of experience and talent to give these characters life. The play will be directed by Bruce and Janet Nelson. As a special treat for Valentine’s weekend, both performances will include a glass of sparkling wine along with chocolate treats. Tickets for this special event are $20 per person or $35 per couple. Performances will be at the Camp Kimtu Cookhouse in Willow Creek. On Saturday doors will open at 7:00 p.m. with the show beginning at 8:00. On Sunday doors will open at 2:00 p.m. with performance beginning at 2:30. Reservations can be made at the Dream Quest Thrift Store on Country Club Drive in Willow Creek after February 1st. Redbud Theater has been providing culture and entertainment for the Klamath/Trinity community since the 1970’s. The group was incorporated as a community non-profit in 1983 and now makes its home at the Camp Kimtu Cookhouse near Veterans Park. Later this spring the group will present the hilarious musical comedy “Cowgirls”, including the traditional Gala Opening Dinner Show in late April.
