The Magic Banana Hour Brings World-Class Comedy, Circus, and Chaos to Blue Lake, Plus a Rare Performance Workshop Opportunity

BLUE LAKE, Calif. - Dell’Arte International invites audiences to experience The Magic Banana Hour, a wildly entertaining evening of comedy, music, magic, puppetry, and unexpected surprises as part of the 2026 Baduwa’t Festival. Performances takes place on Saturday, August 1 at 8:00 p.m. at Dell’Arte International in Blue Lake.

Hosted by internationally acclaimed comedy duo Daredevil Chicken - Jonathan Taylor and Anne Goldmann, winners of The Gong Show - The Magic Banana Hour blends vintage variety-show charm with contemporary physical comedy. Audiences can expect banana juggling, outrageous characters, live music, puppets performing magic, audience interaction, surprise guests, and performances by Dell’Arte artists and local talent. The show has been described as The Muppet Show meets Prairie Home Companion with a healthy dose of joyful absurdity.

The production is also the culmination of a weeklong creative workshop, Act Development with Daredevil Chicken, taking place July 28 through August 1. Designed for performers, comedians, circus artists, clowns, musicians, and anyone developing live performance work, the intensive gives participants the opportunity to refine existing acts or create new material under the guidance of two internationally celebrated artists with more than 30 years of experience performing around the world. Spaces are limited and available by application.
