Solidarity in Sanctuary Day

Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary

This symbolic day reaffirms that respect, diversity, and the protection of human rights are non-negotiable values in Arcata. It honors leaders, artists, social movements, and everyday neighbors working for peace and change.

We also celebrate that the City of Arcata has been designated a Sanctuary for 2Spirit, Transgender, Gender Nonconforming, and Intersex People.
From a bike/skate/scooter ride along the Bay Trail to cultural performances, food from the Global South, an Aztec dance ceremony, bilingual children’s activities, and resource tables, there will be something for all ages.
