The Territory Benefit Screening

The Miniplex at Richards’ Goat Tavern

2 NIGHTS ONLY! Winner of both the Audience and Jury awards for World Documentary at Sundance this year, THE TERRITORY (prod. Darren Aronovsky) provides an immersive on-the-ground look at the tireless fight of the Indigenous Uru-eu-wau-wau people against encroaching deforestation brought by farmers and illegal settlers in the Brazilian Amazon. Partially shot by the Uru-eu-wau-wau people, the community risks their lives to set up their own news media team in the hopes of exposing the truth. LIMITED SEATING, $10 tickets MUST be bought in advance. All proceeds will be donated to KANINDÉ (the NGO featured in the film). The nonprofit, led by Neidinha Bandeira and Txai Suruí, has been supporting Indigenous communities for decades in their fight for sovereignty and the battle against the climate crisis. “A thrilling feat that sees art and activism collide.” -POV
