The Well at the World’s End
Arcata Playhouse’s 2014 Family Fun series continues with a locally produced premiere of The Well at the World’s End. Using mask, puppets, song and story, The Well at the World’s End takes the audience on a journey through three folktales about strong girls. The stories are brought to life through stunning shadow puppets, masks and Japanese style Bunraku puppetry with live music performed and composer Gregg Moore. The cast of three, Anthony Arnista and Meridith Baldwin (recent Dell’Arte masters graduates) and actress Johanni Guerrero, act as narrators, puppeteers and characters in the production. Jacqueline Dandeneau directs with the script written by Dandeneau and the ensemble. The sets are designed by Lush Newton, with puppets by James Hildebrandt and costumes by Malia Penhall and lighting by David Ferney.
