Theatre of Hate, The Bolshoi Brothers

The Miniplex at Richards’ Goat Tavern

Don’t miss these two influential 1980s U.K. goth/post-punk bands in Arcata!

THEATRE OF HATE is a British post-punk and gothic rock band formed in London in 1980 by singer-songwriter Kirk Brandon. Their debut album “Westworld” was produced by Mick Jones from THE CLASH and held the number one position for 21 weeks. Their single “Do You Believe In The Westworld?” became a Cold War anthem and is still widely played on international radio.

THE BOLSHOI BROTHERS is an indie rock duo consisting of Trevor Tanner (vocals and guitar) and Paul Clark (keyboards). Both were core members of the 1980s British new wave/post-punk band THE BOLSHOI, known for hits like “Sunday Morning” and “Away.”

“The Bolshoi wandered between worlds, a sort of heady blend of Bauhausian-infused gloom and rockier but electronically reinforced sounds. Today, they are still confusing and challenging fans of labels and genres, moving effortlessly between rock weight and pop awareness, gothic shade and New Romantic accessibility” -The Big Takeover

“Theatre of Hate is not coffee-table music, but rather beautifully dark and poignant music that feels like it could snap at any time.” -Is This Music?

Doors at 8 pm with DJ DastBunny and live set from supporting act SOME DAYS ARE DARKER (“A cinematic dive into Post-Punk intimacy” -Curious for Music) at 9pm. 21+
