Training for Care Givers

Bridgeville Community Center

CARE GIVER TRAINING! Caring for someone who is critically ill or frail? Are you a professional caregiver, or an IHSS worker? Or do you want to be prepared as a caregiver for a future time? Come do hands on training for bathing someone in bed, assisting in transfers from bed to wheelchair, how to assess for bedsores and much much more. We will also explore communications skills and how to talk with family or clients about declining abilities, finding meaning in death and dealing with grief and loss. The Care Giver Training is sponsored by the Two Rivers Community Care Group Volunteer Hospice organization, a program of the non-profit Bridgeville Community Center. The Training will be held at the Bridgeville Community Center, Saturday May 6 and Sunday May 7, from 9:00 to 4:00 (sign in time 8:30). Cost is sliding scale from $5.00 to $20.00. No one will be turned away! Free Lunch both days, so please call the Bridgeville Community Center at 777-1775 to RSVP and register.
