Transforming Rape Culture

College of the Redwoods

The CR sociology department presents a series of 5 discussions titled “Transforming a Rape Culture” this Fall at CR. They will take place on Fridays - Sept. 27, Oct. 11, Oct. 25, Nov. 8 and Nov. 22 in room SC 204 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The book guiding some of the discussion is “Transforming a Rape Culture: Revised Edition” edited by Buchwald, Fletcher & Roth. Copies of the book are available at the CR Bookstore. Participants are encouraged to talk more deeply about changing our society’s culture in regard to sexualized violence. The conversation is to be mediated by CR’s sociology professors. The goals are to bring people of all genders together, share some information, talk constructively about our perspectives, and brainstorm inspirational ideas. These discussions are free and open to the public.
