Truth in Wonder

Redwood Raks World Dance Studio

Redwood RAKS World Dance Studio is proud to present Truth in Wonder: An Experimental Dance Project, Friday, Sept. 13th at 8 p.m. and Saturday Sept. 14th at 2 p.m. in the Main dance studio at Redwood RAKS located in the Creamery District Eighth and L St. Arcata. This project is choreographed by artist in residence Lela Annotto, in collaboration with Percussionist and Experimental Musician Jonathan Kipp, and Spoken Word Artist Emily Adams. With dancers from Humboldt State University and local dance teachers from Trillium Dance Studios, North Coast Dance and Redwood RAKS: Dani Gutierrez, Islay Dillon-Ogden, Kara Ajetunmobi, Keili Marble, Lyndsey Lascheck, Sapphira Vaska, and Stephanie Carter. With costumes featured by Ayla Diliberti. From the electronic soundscape composition by Kipp, to the powerful presence that Adams brings, this is a rare opportunity to view how spoken word, music, and dance can influence one another directly while still staying true to their own unique voice. This is a creative collaboration not to be missed!
