Ukes4Peace hosted by the UFC

Rita’s Margaritas & Mexican Grill, Fifth Street

A growing grassroots music movement started in Healdsburg is striking
a chord across Northern California. Ukes4Peace, a collaborative effort among more than two dozen ukulele
clubs, is inviting ukulele players to come together in a series of informal “uke jam” events designed to
promote peace, harmony, and connection through music, in reaction to the divisive political environment.
Local organizers of UFC, Lisa Rae Robison and Star Seigfried, look forward to a great turnout after their
success with community events “Play Music on the Porch Day”, Porchfest in Sunny Brae and their
workshop at the Folk Life Festival last summer. Seigfried says, “Playing ukulele for peace brings a
universal language for us all; it will be fun and inspiring!” The music playlist, both play-along sheets and
link to the Spotify list, can be found on the groups website www.ukulelefightclubofhumboldt.com. There is
a $5 suggested donation at the door with proceeds going to help fund the club’s program to bring ukulele to
local libraries for youth in the community. Rita’s Margarita’s & Mexican Food has hosted several events
for the UFC in the past and will have full service during the event.
