The Cal Poly Humboldt Department of History invites you to its annual Undergraduate History Conference! Dr. Jonathan Strom’s (Emory University) keynote address, “Executing Conversion: Pietist Success and Unintended Consequences,” will explore the phenomenon of Christian “rebirth” among Pietists, whose zealous attempts to convert even criminals condemned to execution became spectacular media events and spurred tragic imitation. 1) keynote address – Friday, May 1, 5-7pm, Founders Hall 025. 2) student presentations – Saturday, May 2, 8:30am-5pm, Founders Hall 025.
