Undocumented Student Series
Turning Dreams into Degrees is a 3-part workshop series designed to support undocumented and mixed-status students as they navigate financial aid, career pathways, and graduate school. Hosted by Scholars Without Borders, the series offers practical guidance, community support, and hands-on assistance to help students move closer to their educational and professional goals.
Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 2 - 4 p.m.
A Financial Aid Workshop where students can ask questions to a panel trained in supporting undocumented students and receive hands-on help completing the California Dream Act Application or FAFSA. We will have 5 laptops available for those who don’t have one.
Thursday, Feb. 26 from 1 - 3 p.m.
A Career Workshop focused on career tips tailored to undocumented students, including information about paid opportunities that do not require work authorization.
Wednesday, March 4 from 2 - 4 p.m.
A Graduate School Workshop featuring a panel of graduate students who share concrete steps and insights on preparing for and applying to graduate school.
All events take place in the Library Fishbowl (LIB 209), lunch is provided, and students are encouraged to bring a laptop and their 2024 income tax information for application support. Students who attend the graduate school workshop and one of the first two events will be entered into a raffle for a Cal Poly Humboldt graduate application fee waiver.
Support is also available via Zoom, and students can reach out to ScholarsWithoutBorders@humboldt.edu or (707) 826-3368 with any questions or concerns.
