Veterans Day Event

Clarke Historical Museum

Join us on Nov. 11th from 1pm to 3pm to celebrate our local veterans and the donation of Kathrin Burleson’s Faces of American Heroes portraits. To date, over 150 drawings have been completed of local WWII veterans, all of which will be donated to the museum with a special unveiling celebration on Veterans Day. A special reception will be held for Humboldt County WWII Veterans. Kathrin Burleson is co-founder of North Coast Honor Flight, a program that has taken over 200 WWII veterans to Washington DC to visit the Memorial that was built in their honor. Over the past two years, her artistic focus has been drawing and interviewing these veterans, most of whom are around 90 years old.
