The Sublime Frequencies music and film label began in part as a response to the attacks on 9/11, as a way to counter the demonized media image of people from places like Southeast Asia, North & West Africa and the Middle East. Ethnographer Hisham Mayet is bringing a double feature of his latest, one about the birthplace of Voodoo in West Africa, and one about a traditional wedding featuring the beloved Western Sahara band Group Doueh!
