Wasted! The Story of Food Waste
Free Screening of the Food Waste Documentary “Wasted!” Friday, November 17th, E.C.O. Eureka and Recology are presenting a free screening of the brand-new documentary, “Wasted! The Story of Food Waste”. This documentary aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the eyes of chef-heroes like Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura, and Danny Bowien, audiences will see how the world’s most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system. Wasted! shows us how each of us can make small changes – all of them delicious – to solve one of the greatest problems of the 21st Century. This documentary will be screened to the community for free at the Municipal Auditorium at 1120 F St. in Eureka. Doors will open at 6:30pm and movie will start at 7:00pm. All who attend will receive free raffle tickets to win a variety of prizes to help cut food waste in your home. Additionally, all will receive coupons for discounts on compost bins and amendments thanks to Pierson’s Building Center. An ugly fruit demo will also be featured. This event is made possible due to the efforts of Eureka Parks & Recreation, Recology, and Pierson Building Center. If you would like more information, please call 707.441.4206.
