Water Board Meeting for Smith River Pesticide Pollution

The Smith River is one of the cleanest rivers in the country, but lily bulb farming in the estuary has relied on massive amounts of toxic pesticides for decades. Families have reported a variety of health issues and unsafe water. Coho salmon at the river’s mouth are also harmed. Show up to protect clean water, families, and our future. Every testimony adds pressure for stronger protections. The meeting is from 6 - 9 p.m. and virtual public comments will be accepted from those who fill out a virtual speak card the day prior at tinyurl.com/SmithRiverTownhall
