Wax Carving for Sand Casting Workshop

Ready to create your own designs for sand casting? In this beginner-friendly workshop with Tova Lund, you’ll learn how to cut and carve wax into simple forms that are well suited for the sand casting process. We’ll focus on creating designs that cast successfully while exploring the unique textures and organic qualities that make sand casting so much fun.

This introductory workshop will focus on carving a small pendant or simple ring, giving you the skills and confidence to create your own designs for future sand castings. Cast in your home studio, or in a future Sand Casting course section.

Materials are Included

Limited to 4

Age: 18+

To use the studio you must:

Sign a Liability Waiver
Wear closed toed shoes
Wear appropriate eye protection
Wear splash goggles when using the soldering area
Note: 1 pair is available in the studio at the soldering station. If you would like your own pair please bring them.
Tie back long hair
Secure loose clothing
Follow all posted Studio rules
Follow directions from instructor and/or studio monitors
We also highly suggest wearing natural fibers like cotton, hemp, etc. Synthetic fibers contain plastic that may melt onto your skin if they come into contact with heat!
