Whale Songs & Other Marine Acoustics with Jeff Jacobsen
Explore North Coast and Center Activities will host a special lecture on March 6 at 6 p.m. at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, Room 203.
Want to sing along with this year’s humpback whale song? Clap along with the echolocation clicks of sperm whales? Marine mammalogist Jeff Jacobsen will describe recent underwater acoustic research of species detected in recordings made off of Table Bluff for eight months. New acoustic technologies will be reviewed, and how they can be used to monitor cetaceans in offshore wind farm areas.
