Word Humboldt is a spoken word community that has a weekly poetry based open mic in Arcata that hosts local and national poet features, along with many monthly events and collaborations with other organizations and venues that align with our core values.

This week’s feature, a collaboration with Black Humboldt in honor of Black Liberation Month: Emani is a multi-faceted P.O.C. creator and entrepreneur born in Salt Lake City, UT. Originally trained as a dancer and yoga teacher, she is now exploring the worlds of poetry and music expressed through her unique perspective of life.

Our mission is to create loving community spaces for expression for all people across Humboldt County & to connect our community through spoken word and all other forms of poetry.
