Benefit concert

The local group, Young and Lovely, will be performing a benefit concert for Area 1 Agency on Aging’s Volunteer Driver Program on Wednesday October 1, 2025, at the Arcata Playhouse, 5:30 pm to 10 pm. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Visit A1AA.org for more info and ticket link.

Started in 2010, the Volunteer Driver Program offers transportation to people 50 and older who are no longer able to drive to their medical appointments and the pharmacy. This program is volunteer “driven” and can serve any place a volunteer is willing to drive. Volunteers receive mileage reimbursement and heartfelt thanks from our riders. The funding for this program is decreasing significantly in 2026 and the program is too important to lose.
