The yellow-throated vireo (Vireo flavifrons) is a small American songbird.”Vireo” is a Latin word referring to a green migratory bird, perhaps the female golden oriole, possibly the European greenfinch. The specific flavifrons is from the Latin words flavus, “yellow”, and frons, “forehead”.
