During the month of February, multiple organizations focus their efforts Black Liberation Month. A time of reflection and action.

From Black Humboldt to Cal Poly Humboldt’s Umoja Center, multiple opportunities are offered to uplift Black voices and educate everyone in our community.

KSLG Morning Host Sabina Gallier sat down with Sarai, Eureka Poet Laureate and Black Humboldt Resource and Education Innovator to discuss the important work that BH does year round, the necessity of exclusive Black and Brown spaces and the family events, workshops and networking meetups being offered during Black Liberation Month 2026.
