Humboldt Samba Community on KHUM
Samba da Alegria and Samba do Mar Humboldt are marking 40 years of bringing Brazilian drumming, dance, color, and community spirit to Arcata’s streets. This year’s Humboldt Samba Parade theme, “Deep Roots, Wild Spirit,” celebrates both the history of samba in Humboldt and the new folks who keep showing up to learn, play, dance, build costumes, and carry the tradition forward.
Drumming classes with Neil Bost happen Sundays from 12:30–2:30 PM, July 12 through September 13, at HLOC The Space in Arcata.
Dance classes are Thursdays from 5:30–7 PM starting July 9. All levels are welcome.
