Last year in October and only three years into a five year lease, College of the Redwoods informed Access Humboldt that they would need to vacate the building they were operating out of by May to make way for demolition.

This left Access Humboldt at a cross roads with some very hard decisions to make. Should they A. scale back operations and go to remote (work from home) positions or B. double down and look for, purchase and renovate a building of their very own so that they would never be at the behest of a landlord again.

Thank goodness they chose the latter.

In August, Access Humboldt will close escrow on a (yet to be released) location and the excitement is palpable.

Toby in the Morning sat down with Executive Director Christina Jeffers to some of the wonderful things they are doing in our community, what happens next and a general call out to helpers that want to get involved in making dreams come true.
