Shannon Townsend-Bettis of Play Street

Founder and Executive Director of the new play place for kids in Eureka, Play Street, stopped by Toby in the Morning to discuss the wonderful new Multi-Sensory Play and Education Center in Eureka.

What is a Multi-Sensory Environment (MSE)?

MSE’s are specially controlled environments designed to stimulate or sooth the senses depending on the needs of the participant, through careful presentation and manipulation of sounds, light, smells, and tactile objects/surfaces. These spaces are great for everyone but are especially suited for people with autism, sensory processing disorders, and intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

As Shannon’s first daughter was born developmentally challenged she began to see the real need for an all inclusive center for children to live their absolute best life and Play Street was conceived.

Listen to the heartwarming interview below and then book your next class or play day!
