KSLG TALKS TO - Arcata Arts Institute

The world needs art. Simple as that.

Artistic expression is imperative when every day seems to give us another dose of dread. Art gives us a way to communicate our loves, our frustrations and our truths.

For the longest time, the arts have traditionally ended up on the funding chopping block, especially where youth programs are concerned. The Arcata Arts Institute stands out as a shining light of hope and encouragement for Arcata High students.

The AAI offers instruction in visual and media arts while helping students on pathways through the various mediums using “in-depth study and career preparation”.

Arcata Arts Institute Ambassador Ilana Maclay dropped by the KSLG realm to chat with Sabina about the AAI and the upcoming production of “The Hello Girls”, a musical following the true story journey of the first women’s Army Signal Corps, the female switchboard operators of World War I.

Interview can be found below.
