While conducting my live remote from the Lumberjack Block Party at Cal Poly this Saturday, I couldn’t help but notice the army of “Bright” and “Green” vested individuals posted up at the many refuse stations. Each station had 4 bins, compost, recycle, trash and a purple bin labeled “REUSE”, and each 4 bin station had an enthusiastic employee there to guide you into proper placement,

It was the purple bin that got my attention. What is “reuse”? Well that was for Bright and Green, an amazing company run by Carly Tambling. They provide cups, plates and cutlery to all the food vendors to use and the consumer puts them in the purple bin so Carly and her team can wash and re-use them at the next event.
