Grainne Hunt, Jules Stewart on stage

If you’re looking for music that pulls you in and doesn’t let go, you are in for a treat today.

Joining KSLG’s afternoon host in the studio via the internet is acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Gráinne Hunt, whose distinct nu-folk sound blends raw emotion with a quiet, commanding power—and a voice that’s been famously described as ‘complex coffee.’

Gráinne is currently out on her extensive US tour, teaming up with San Diego’s own Jules Stewart on drums and vocals to form what critics are calling the ‘bi-continental queer folk duo you didn’t know you needed.’ They bring incredible rich harmonies and magnetic chemistry to the stage, and they’re bringing that energy right here to town at the Arcata Playhouse on Saturday, September 26th.
