Power Out to Nearly 300 Customers in Arcata's Sunset Neighborhood

A power line went into a tree near the corner of Sunset and Eastern a little bit ago, knocking out power to the whole Sunset Triangle.

When Arcata Fire arrived they saw smoke coming from the tree, so the shut down traffic at the Sunset/Eastern intersection while waiting for PG&E to show up. Humboldt Bay Fire sent an engine north to help provide coverage for the Arcata area while their colleagues handle this situation.

PG&E is on the scene now. Follow updates from them below.
