Power Outage in Eureka; 5880 Customers Affected

As you can imagine, tons of Outpost readers writing in to report that the power is out all over Eureka. A few have noted that a brownout kicked things off before total blackness set in. According to LoCO‘s Blackout Bot, the cause of the outage is still unknown to PG&E (see automatically updating details below). They are optimistically predicting 9:45 p.m. as the time when they’ll restore the juice. We’ll see.

In the meantime, anybody see anything that might be responsible for depriving a huge chunk of Eureka light bulb-enjoyers of their joy?  —Andrew Goff
